Here is the plan for the phased reopening of the Boyne District Library due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This plan is based on guidelines from OSHA, the CDC, and the state and local government. For the full plan click here.

Phase 1: Stay Home, Stay Safe*

The library building is completely closed to the staff and public and all programs are virtual. Digital collections are available through the library’s website and WiFi is available outside the library building.

Phase 2: Curbside service and minimal contactless patron services*

During this phase, the library staff will be allowed to return to the building and curbside services will begin. All returned materials will be quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours. Members of the public will not be allowed into the building. The library meeting rooms will not be available and programs will continue to be virtual.

Phase 3: The library building minimally open to the public*
During this phase, the library building will be minimally opened to the public. Every effort will be made by the staff to set the library up to encourage social distancing between patrons. Staff will all wear masks and rules regarding patron face coverings will be determined by the rules set by the state and local government. The library meeting rooms will not be available and programs will continue to be virtual.

Phase 4: Business as usual*

The library will be open pre-pandemic hours. Programming will resume and the meeting rooms will be available to the public. Books will no longer need to be in quarantine and social distancing measures can cease.

*These phases are fluid and subject to change. There is a possibility that we will be moving in and out of these phases and there is no set timeline for this plan.
